The school admits male students only, although there were some female (A Level) HSC students before the establishment of Queen's College Lagos. Now the school conducts exams for the West African School-Leaving Certificate and the National Examinations Council. It has been a leading school in Nigeria in almost all endeavors ranging from education, sports and social life.
King’s College was founded by the British for the sole purpose of producing leaders who are competent, well educated  enlightened, de-tribalized and general all-rounder’s for the ruling of the nation but for some  reasons its students has been sidelined from their true destiny by the Barewa boys thereby living the nation in a state of anarchy.
